Delta Sigma Pi is a professional fraternity organized to foster the study of business in universities; to encourage scholarship, social activity and the association of students for their mutual advancement by research and practice; to promote closer affiliation between the commercial world and students of commerce, and to further a higher standard of commercial ethics and culture and the civic and commercial welfare of the community.
Delta Sigma Pi was founded in 1907 at New York University: School of Commerce, Accounts and Finance by Harold Valentine Jacobs, Alexander Frank Makay, Alfred Moysello and Henry Albert Tienken. Today, coast to coast, more than 250 chapters and nearly 200,000 members support the goals and ideals of the Fraternity.
The Milwaukee Alumni Chapter was founded in 1977, a successor to the Delta Alumni Club. Today we have over 120 dues paid members, representing 20 different collegiate chapters. We strive to make the Delta Sigma Pi experience one that can be continued well beyond graduation.
Current annual events include a golf outing, Christmas/ Holiday luncheon, awards banquet and a twilight cruise with the two local chapters (Delta at Marquette University and Xi Chi at the University of Wisconsin - Milwaukee). Quarterly outings include after-work social hours and brewery tours.
The Milwaukee Alumni Chapter enjoy a good relationship with the local active chapters, and collaborate on both social and professional events. We see this connection as being beneficial to new brothers, both as actives and as they graduate in to the professional world. Our goal is to build and strengthen these relationships going forward.
If you are interested in being part of the Milwaukee Alumni Chapter, please send a note to Chris McArdle (president@milwaukeedsp.org) and he will provide you with more information.
